Abstract
⺠Reference memory task (hidden platform water maze) promoted neurogenesis. ⺠Working memory task (delayed matching-to-place water maze) decreased neurogenesis. ⺠Both tasks lead to increase in serum corticosterone levels. ⺠Both tasks did not change BDNF and Notch 1 receptor level in hippocampus. ⺠Working memory task has different effects on survival of immature neurons.
