Abstract
⺠Short-term memory recall is objectively increased after placebo-mediated suggestion. ⺠Naloxone specifically blocks the suggestion effect without interfering with memory performance. ⺠These results indicate an opioid-mediated placebo effect within a circumscribed cognitive domain.
