Abstract
⺠The Bayesian brain is probability machine that updates predictions by sensory input. ⺠Deafferentation leads to topographically restricted uncertainty (prediction errors). ⺠Topographically restricted uncertainty is adaptively addressed by plastic repair mechanisms. ⺠The free-energy principle leads to phantom percepts, as a way to reduce uncertainty.
