Abstract
These results suggest that asymmetry of DA levels modulates the differential exertion of effort toward attaining rewards versus avoiding aversive consequences, providing new insights into understanding the underlying pathophysiology of behavioral syndromes such as apathy and impulsive-compulsive disorders.
