Abstract
⺠Perceptual fluency was altered at test by changing the clarity of the test probe. ⺠Clarity was held constant (blocked) or varied (random) across test trials. ⺠Recognition was based either on fluency (blocked) or familiarity (random). ⺠Fluency correlated with an early ERP, 280-400 ms, at parietal electrodes. ⺠The evidence suggests fluency can be separated from familiarity.
