Abstract
⺠Inverted faces elicited larger P1 amplitudes than upright faces when attended. ⺠No inversion effect on P1 amplitudes was observed when faces were unattended. ⺠N170 latencies were delayed by face inversion for both attended and unattended faces. ⺠N170 amplitudes were enlarged by face inversion when they were unattended. ⡠No inversion effects on P1 or N170 were observed for houses.
