Abstract
⺠We found that resilient places were densely populated, urban areas with high numbers of incoming residents. ⺠Identified amenable built and physical factors of resilient areas might decrease mortality in equally deprived areas. ⺠Unexpected findings indicate the need for better understanding of human-neighbourhood interactions and proxies of cohesion. ⺠We highlight the importance of advancing our understanding of place-specific resilience factors.
