Abstract
⺠First comprehensive review of HIV and AIDS evidence base among persons with disabilities in more than a decade. ⺠Most research shows that people with disability are affected by HIV at rates equal or above those of the general population. ⺠Gaps in the evidence base include the impact of HIV across impairment types and the issues faced by women with disabilities. ⺠Data are needed on effective approaches to improve education, health care and social services for persons with disabilities. ⺠AIDS researchers must work with disabled peoples' organisations and experts to identify key areas around disability and HIV.
