Abstract
We demonstrated sub-nanosecond pulse width at single longitudinal mode operation in a diode-pumped electro-optically Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser. The laser used one reflecting Bragg gratings (RBG) as output coupler for mode selection. Stable, single-mode longitudinal operation with laser pulse of 0.43 mJ energy, peak power of 0.66 MW and duration of 645 ps at 5 to 150 Hz was realized from a 38 mm long optical resonator.
► We demonstrated sub-nanosecond pulse, single longitudinal mode in Nd:YVO4 laser. ► RBG has been used to achieve single longitudinal mode operation. ► RBG as the output coupler can be widely used.
