Abstract
In order to study the physics properties of anisotropic zero epsilon metamaterials, we develop a transfer matrix method and study the transmission properties of a slab composed of anisotropic zero epsilon metamaterials. At a special direction any electromagnetic waves can be totally transmitted through the slab regardless of the incident frequency and thickness of the slab. The direction can be adjusted through changing the permittivity tensor εz for the slab material.
► We propose a concept of anisotropic zero epsilon metamaterials. ► We study the transmission properties of anisotropic zero epsilon metamaterial slab. ► The electromagnetic wave with a special frequency can be totally transmitted through the slab at a special direction.
