Abstract
The article discusses the factors that influence the growth of the Mexican economy and one of them was the open interventionism of the State that unfolded through its various institutions. However, since the process of opening of the economy, the results in terms of growth and development for the Mexican economy and society have not been satisfactory, therefore it is urgent to recover the path of sustained growth. In this scenario and due to the historical trascen-dence of government institutions, this paper turns to an econometric estimation of an aggregate production function that considers the capital, labor, technological progress and the government and its institutions considered through public expenditure, as the main elements that in the last decades have led the growth of the Mexican economy and that can potentiate the near future.
