Abstract
In this paper, a manufacturing employment equation is estimated for the Estado de México from 1999 to 2008 as a relationship of investment and wage productivity. The results suggest a displacement of the labor in the same sector in the sense that if an increase in the productivity reduces de levels of employment, it is done in an inelastic way, which supposes that the labor displacement is not an effect of absolute unemployment, but of the personnel reallocation in sectors with different productivity.
