Abstract
⺠We argue that when a cognitive effort is required, the decision-maker asks for a monetary premium. ⺠In our experiment, the participants were asked to bid for lotteries with different complexity. ⺠We created cognitive efforts by asking participants to use a calculator. ⺠The increase in cognitive efforts increases the monetary premium.
