Abstract
⺠Personalized recommendation is a promising way to solve the information overload problem. ⺠The negative ratings may play a positive role especially for very sparse data sets. ⺠Contributions of relevance information and positive ratings to information filtering are distinguished. ⺠The random walk process has been successfully applied to solve challenges in information filtering.
