Abstract
⺠A thin nematic liquid crystal film on spherical substrates is studied. ⺠Effect of surface anchoring strength on the film is studied using recent entropic sampling methods. ⺠A threshold anchoring strength is observed beyond which molecules prefer to be radially ordered. ⺠Microstates collected during the simulation show signatures of bistability in the system.
