Abstract
⺠The spatial structure of urban land is similar to the structure of critical systems. ⺠The fluctuations and correlations of the built-up land pattern are long-ranged. ⺠The exponents in the power-law decay have similar values for different cities. ⺠Most universal are the fluctuations of built-up area in discs.
