Abstract
⺠Whether a heterogeneous network exhibits a rich-club determines its topology. ⺠For the networks with homogeneous degree distribution this is not the case. ⺠The motif distribution can be controlled by manipulating rich-club connections. ⺠These results help us to design new models for characterizing real-world networks.
