Abstract
Our novel type of magnetic angle sensor is based on Hall elements, signal electronics and the co-integration of a ferromagnetic concentrator (IMC technology). Instead of transforming a sin and a cos signal into angle information, requiring significant computing power, we use in a purely analog way the reversible ratio of two non-orthogonal measurement axes to provide a linear response over 120° of angle. The sensor is very robust to temperature drift and ageing effects and features a −3 dB bandwidth of about 8 kHz.
