Abstract
Fourteen objects of Gravettian tradition, made of steatite, were found in three different sites in the Esterel mountain range (open air sites of Gachettes 1, Rainaude Cave, Bouverie Cave). Their description and traceological study are proposed in this article. The technological interpretations provided are based on microscopic surface observations. The study of these objects is particularly interesting in view of possible comparisons with similar objects from the Grimaldi caves.
