Abstract
⺠8000-Year old rice and millet remains have been recovered from Xihe site. ⺠The Xihe residents were hunter-gatherers who might cultivate plants. ⺠No strong evidence has been obtained for the nature of rice. ⺠The Houli Culture is a good example for early Neolithic plant use in East Asia.
