Abstract
In many manufacturing processes and robotic applications, localizing a geometric structure is very important and useful. Localizing a large structure on the sea is a challenging process for sensory information. The purpose of this study is to create a new localization method for large structures using a laser beam. In this paper, we propose a new method of non-contact laser-based large structure localization. This method is mainly based on the use of an inexpensive PC-based monitoring system, including a laser diode (LD), a photodiode (PD) and a real-time data transmission (RTDT) system communicating through Bluetooth interfaces to acquire precise measurements.
