Abstract
► We investigate tobacco retailer density and proximity to schools in NYC districts. ► We model how retailing around schools varies with district characteristics. ► Retailer density near schools is higher in socially disadvantaged districts. ► Density/proximity vary with population density, land use and public health coverage. ► Districts with high retail density and close proximity to schools do not overlap.
