Abstract
ⶠClimate mitigation focuses on CO2 because it has produced the largest radiative forcing. ⶠThere is potential for efficient climate mitigation through the abatement of emissions of CH4 and N2O. ⶠFor methane there are co-benefits of reduced O3 and avoided damages to health and crop yields. ⶠWe show CH4 radiative forcing provides a sensitive control on the allowable integrated CO2 emissions for climate stabilization.
