- Environmental and economic performance of biomass from buffer strips was assessed.
- 12 scenarios including grass and cereals sourcing from buffer strips were compared.
- Biomass from buffer strips used for ensiling generates the highest costs and impacts.
- Perennial grass generates the lowest environmental impacts and the highest incomes.
- Electricity from anaerobic digestion of BS biomass has lower impacts than Dutch mix.
