Abstract
⺠The concept of “environment” takes on its modern meaning right after WW II. ⺠“The environmental” was conceived as a “problem catalogue” of serious changes. ⺠Environmental expertise was defined as natural science about these changes. ⺠Humanities and social sciences were marginalized as irrelevant for “environment”. ⺠Relevant environmental expertise must now expand to include humanities and social sciences.
