Abstract
⺠We introduce the concept and two ideal-type worldviews on Human Information and Knowledge Systems (HIKS). ⺠Sustainability learning requires articulating an open vision of HIKS coupled within social-ecological practices and needs. ⺠We discuss the implications of this worldview for sustainability education, science and policy transformation processes.
