Abstract
► We developed a farm typology based on biophysical and socioeconomic parameters. ► We explored main differences among the defined family farm types. ► Less endowed family farmers are less able to benefit from biodiesel markets. ► Lack of collective action and trust and crop specificities are main drawbacks. ► There is a claim for improved contracts and less specific biodiesel crops.
