Abstract
► An analytical framework for analyzing climate impacts and adaptation for saline agriculture is presented. ► Indicators for impacts and determinants for adaptability and their rankings were derived from interviews with stakeholders. ► Impacts and adaptability of saline land use systems to climate change were assessed with participatory assessment approach. ► The results highlight the importance of land development planning involving water resource and crop arrangements. ► Achieving sustainable saline agriculture might require transformative changes in markets, policies, and science.
