Abstract
⺠Countries have large capacity gaps to implement a national REDD+ monitoring system. ⺠Little improvement in monitoring capacities can be observed between 2005 and 2010. ⺠Because of the slow pace of progress there is urgent need to take immediate action. ⺠Capacity building needs vary based on each country situation and existing capacities. ⺠Countries can benefit from South-South cooperation and regional capacity sharing.
