Abstract
⺠Knowledge gaps and opportunities for carbon storage in drylands are assessed. ⺠Data, modelling and process-based knowledge on C stores and fluxes is lacking. ⺠Opportunities for pro-poor, ecosystem service-smart development are outlined. ⺠Collaborative partnerships are vital to meet pro-poor, ecosystem service goals.
