Abstract
⺠We analyzed social preferences toward Mediterranean landscapes. ⺠Sense of belonging contributed to landscape conservation support. ⺠Multi-functional landscapes were preferred. ⺠Ecological components and processes behind landscapes should be uncovered. ⺠The role of local population is essential on rural landscape conservation.
