Abstract
⺠Difficulties in obtaining data represent genuine barriers to research on climate change, water, or biodiversity protection. ⺠A clear disparity exists between the objectives of EU research and obstacles of access to and limited availability of data. ⺠A centralized data clearing house would help to remove one of the obstacles to data availability and access.
