Abstract
- Coastal infrastructure, sea level rise and subsidence generate a coastal squeeze.
- With coastal squeeze, species cannot migrate landward and may become extinct.
- When coastal ecosystems are not functional, infrastructure may be at risk.
- The possibility of coastal squeeze along the coast of Veracruz, Mexico was assessed.
- Alternatives to help manage and/or mitigate coastal squeeze are outlined.
