Abstract
⺠We estimate forest-based biomass supply in Massachusetts from private and state land. ⺠The estimates take into consideration biophysical and landowner constraints. ⺠We estimate the sustainable annual level of bioenergy production given this supply. ⺠Results suggest between 1.4 trillion and 6.2 trillion BTUs/year from biomass supply. ⺠We suggest forest inventory be tempered by ownership size and owner attitudes.
