Abstract
⺠Results show that off-farm work tends to decrease fertilizer/chemical expenses. ⺠Chemical usage decrease significantly at the higher percentiles of the distribution. ⺠The study finds a positive effect of crop insurance on chemical usage. ⺠The effect of crop insurance on chemical usage is robust across entire distribution.
