Abstract
⺠National urbanization levels are not a good indicator of urban transport demand. ⺠National urbanization levels are negatively correlated with urban density. ⺠Urban density is negatively correlated with private transport energy consumption. ⺠Fuel efficiency and private transport costs are negatively correlated with energy use. ⺠No evidence lowering public transport costs lowers private transport energy use.
