Abstract
⺠Leisure activities and travel emerge from webs of relations among people and places. ⺠Leisure, social ties and places are linked through identity, social position, norms and affect. ⺠Practice theories could deepen our understanding of leisure activities and associated travel. ⺠Activity diaries, ethnographic approaches and case studies can illuminate these interactions.
