Abstract
⺠Modern housing pressures cause urban populations to disperse. ⺠Low-density, sprawl housing and traffic cause environmental and social damage. ⺠Poorer communities are much worse affected. ⺠Mass car ownership displaces viable public transport. ⺠Environmental limits and the need for social integration drive alternative higher density solutions.
