Abstract
⺠This article explores the impact of transport constraints on raising skills levels. ⺠Some remoter rural areas face a low skills equilibrium which curbs economic progress. ⺠Travel constraints mean employers are reluctant to train. ⺠Engaging in training can involve long journeys in remoter rural areas. ⺠Transport and travel exacerbate problems of poor skills and low productivity.
