Transferability and enhancement of a microsimulation model for estimating urban commercial vehicle movements

► We examine the transferability of a commercial vehicle movement microsimulation. ► The framework is transferred from Calgary to the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area. ► Most components are transferred and some are newly developed. ► Favorable correlations between observed and simulated vehicle flows are achieved. ► We conclude that the modeling framework can add value if transferred.
