Abstract
- LCA of full-scale waste water treatment plants was performed.
- Two-step anammox treatment was compared with traditional system.
- Anammox reduces nitrogen with 16%, but increases GHG emissions with 9%.
- Nitrous oxide emissions from partial nitrification mainly explains the GHG increase.
