Abstract
⺠Single stream recycling collects on average 50% more recycled tonnage than dual stream. ⺠GHG emission from collection and separation is negligible compared to avoided life-cycle emissions from reduced virgin material demand. ⺠Net benefit of DS-SS transition is 710 kg CO2-equiv. avoided emissions per MT of SS recyclables.
