Abstract
► Effect of lifting tasks and gender on activity of neck muscles was studied. ► Posterior neck muscles showed higher activity than anterior neck muscles. ► Females used anterior muscles to a greater extent than males. ► Higher activity of posterior muscles was observed for males than females. ► Distinct neck muscle activity pattern with respect to lifting heights was observed.
