Abstract
The political reform in Mexico City, as Federal District, has been an ongoing issue since the foundation of the Assembly of Representatives in 1987, as well as the political turnovers within government. The political proposals comprehend the creation of another federal state government to the creation of a new constitutional autonomous government. The study establishes as main hypothesis that a city government with autonomy provides more privileges in front of the federal state governments. In regard to the attributions of the City government, these would depend first in the minimal responsibilities kept for the Federal government and, in a second stage, the attributions divided between the City central government and the rest of the local governments.
