Abstract
In general terms hate speech encompass all those expressions considered dangerous for the stability of democratic systems. Among them we can find hatred offenses based on social class, gender, skin color, sexual orientation or ethnicity. The legal protection of these expressions continues to generate interesting discussions among several constitutional and supranational courts. It is for that reason that our article seeks to explain some of the main legal criteria that ECHR has adopted about this topic.
