Abstract
The paper deals with temperature changes of a lead acid battery cell during discharging and pulse charging in a flooded state. The effect of different settings of pulse charge on increase of the cell temperature was explored and compared to charging in a constant current mode. Various intervals of current charging and rest periods were compared during this study. It was found that the pulse charge leads both to reduction of the polarization resistance and to reduction of the temperature rise of the lead acid battery cells.
