Abstract
A simple and practical model was proposed to predict the Quadratic mean roughness Rq as a function of namely parameters; laser power P, cutting speed V and fixed assistance oxygen flow rate Q. The adequacy of the proposed model was tested by Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA). The Experimental data were compared with modeling data to verify the capability of the proposed model. The results indicate that laser power and cutting speed are determinant cutting-parameters on the quadratic mean roughness of the cutting surface. The surface roughness parameter is determined from ANOVA statistical analysis by providing simple analytical model.
