In its first part, it discusses the initial approaches to the matter, explaining the manner in which scientific societies and academic institutions organized the production and dissemination of knowledge, as well as the ways of the arriving and reception of new historiographical tendencies. In the second part, it considers issues related to the concepts of resistance, social pact, social ties, sociological history and cultural history of society, and how different authors have addressed these issues.
