Abstract
We explore the use of complex Lagrangians in generating first integrals (invariants) for those physical systems in which the dynamics is governed by a set of two second-order ordinary differential equations. For instance the first integrals of a time-dependent and time-independent oscillator and of the generalized coupled Lane–Emden systems are found.
