Abstract
A series of novel 5âbromoâ2-chloropyrimidin-4-amine derivatives (7aâh and 8aâe) were synthesized by nucleophilic substitution reaction with various sulfonyl and acid chlorides. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analyses, FTâIR, 1H NMR and LCâMS spectral studies. All compounds were evaluated for its in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activities. The Compound N-(5âbromoâ2âchloroâpyrimidin-4-yl)-4-methyl-benzenesulfonamide (7b) exhibited significant antimicrobial activity against tested pathogenic bacterial and fungal strains.
